Cook Carter: NYC, NY; From a young age Darren “Cook” Carter has had an affinity for music. He was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in 1986. Athletics brought him out of NYC and in to Northern New Jersey where he would complete his high school education. After attending NYIT and majoring in Graphic Design he recognized that would not fill his creative void. Appreciating music since his youth, Cook knew this would fulfill the creative outlet he was in search of. He craved to reach the world with a passion, and that passion was music. He learned his foremost solution to successful music production was patience and perfecting your craft. With the melodies in his mind, he would need to translate them into a beat. Through his continuous exploration of musical understanding; Cook began producing complete tracks and would have his friends and family rhyme over the beats he composed. After working with several local artists, Cook is now ready to cement his name in the music industry. Currently under the guidance of Multi-Platinum Super Producer Jimi Kendrix, Cook plans to pave the path for music’s future.
